Thank You all For Coming: it was an amazing experience!

Convergencias 2013 is now over and there is a surreal feeling to it after so many months of planning. What is true is that all of the efforts put in by Penn students would have meant nothing without all of you. It might sound cliché, but I believe I can speak on behalf of all of the organizers when I say that the way you engaged with the speakers and other attendees throughout the day was extremely inspiring and simply amazing. We are incredibly grateful to you all for believing in this project and we can’t wait for Convergencias 2014 to see you again.

Hay un refrán maya que dice, “No puedes poner maíz en una canasta con huecos.“ Las discusiones que intercambiamos este fin de semana son sólo el comienzo del proceso para enmendar la canasta y es vital que las ideas no se queden en las hojas impresas para nuestros discursos. Sigamos con el mismo entusiasmo para lograr el cambio que queremos ver en el país que tanto queremos. Muchísimas gracias a todos por sus participación activa y por ayudarnos a tener un evento tan increíble.

Some Last Details!

Dear Participants of Convergencias 2013,

Thank you for registering to this awesome event. We are currently expecting over 75 students from Penn, Yale, Boston University, Columbia, Fletcher, Georgetown, Harvard, McGill, Princeton, Temple and The Washington Center

Here is an update for the weekend:

(i) Agenda and locations. Our website has been updated with the final agenda and the locations of the events. https://mexatpenn.wordpress.com/convergencias/ For those coming from abroad, soon you will receive an email with your host’s contact information.

(ii) Friday night, 10pm.  We are planning to meet at City Tap House (3925 Walnut St. b/w 39 st and 40 st) http://www.citytaphouse.com

(iii) Saturday Dinner, 8pm. Join us for a dinner with the panelists at the University Club at Penn located in the Hilton Hotel – Inn at Penn. Please note, that this event requires an additional fee of $30, you can register for it online or on Saturday morning.  http://convergencias2013.eventbrite.com/

(iv) FIESTA,  Saturday 23, 10 pm.  Yes, some fun after this long but enriching day. Great Music, beers and cocktails included with a $5 fee. (4118 Baltimore, Apartment (University City)
