DR. EDUARDO SOJO GARZA-ALDAPE
President – Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI )
Dr. Sojo is the President of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography of Mexico (INEGI) since 2008, and has led a distinguished career in both public service and academia. Dr. Sojo has served as Chief of the Presidential Office for Public Policy from 2000 until 2006, and Secretary of Economy from 2007 until 2008. In the course his academic career, Dr. Sojo published along with Lawrence Klein, winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics, and among his most recent publications are “From Alternation of Power to Development” and “Public Policies in Democracy”. Dr. Sojo studied economics at the ITESM, and earned a master in economics and Ph.D. in finance and industrial organization from the University of Pennsylvania.
DR. HÉCTOR SALAZAR SÁNCHEZ
Interim Manager, Social Sector – Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
Dr. Salazar has over 20-year experience in Latin America development problems related to his work at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and He assumed the position of interim Manager of the Social Sector on July, 2012. Previously he occupied the position of Division Chief of social programs of the former regional operations department for Central America, Mexico, Haiti and Dominican Republic; and Advisor to the Executive Vice President (EVP). Prior to joining the Bank, Dr. Salazar worked as a full time faculty member of the Center of Demographic and Economic Studies of El Colegio de México. Dr. Salazar holds a M.A. degree in Urban Development from El Colegio de México and Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
DR. PABLO HERNÁNDEZ-ROMO
Criminal Law and Human Rights Specialist, Partner at Hernández Romo & Hernández Estrada
Pablo Hernández-Romo Valencia is the founding partner of Bufete Pablo Hernández-Romo & Hernández Estrada. He has been called as an expert witness in Mexican Criminal Law in several proceedings in the U.S.A. He has taught different courses related to Criminal Law and Procedure in Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad Panamericana and currently is a researcher and professor in Escuela Libre de Derecho. He did research at Yale Law School during several research stays. He has written over 10 books and nearly 30 articles about different issues arising from Mexican Criminal Law and Procedure. Mr. Hernández-Romo has given conferences in several law schools, DA´s offices, states´ judiciaries and criminal law research organizations. He is a member of the National Research System. Pablo Hernández-Romo earned his JD from Universidad Iberoamericana, a Master of Laws from Northwester University, a Master of Laws from Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, Spain and a SJD from Universidad de Alicante, Spain.
DR. FEY BERMAN
Fey Berman Broshy is a prominent journalist based out of New York City. She is a Mexican-American writer that chronicles the cultural and political life of the Hispanic community in the US. She is also a graduate choreographer with a Ph.D. in Dance Education, from New York University. After dancing and choreographing, she taught for many years and she now writes for several Mexican magazines with national and international distribution, including Nexos, Letras Libres, Día Siete, Eme-Equis and Confabulario.

Javier Jileta is a young entrepreneur based in Mexico City. For the past 6 years he has been working in innovation topics. He led the development of six books, including “Mexico City: a Knowledge Economy,” and writes a weekly column at Grupo Imagen in innovation and new technology topics. As well, he has been involved in urban development projects based in Mexico City and India. He serves as counsel for Dr. Sam Pitroda in México, the Public Information and Infrastructure Advisor to the Prime Minister in India. He holds a Bachelor in Arts degree in Economics from ITAM.
